In May 2011, the Group welcomed Peter Canham to Aberdeen to talk about the possibility of setting up an IBD Patient Panel in Aberdeen (notes on meeting can be found on the Newsletters page).
Peter has now published an IBD Patient Panel E-newsletter which can also be found on the Newsletter page.
Hopefully the coming year will see the setting up of our own IBD Patient Panel in Aberdeen, working with the GI Unit and our Medical Advisor, Dr Malcolm Smith.
Are you interested in being part of the panel? Do you have any thoughts on setting up such a panel? Phone the Group or Email us to allow us to help you.
The Aberdeen and Shire Group hope all members and non-members are keeping warm as the cold weather approaches.
One of our members attended a course at our Aberdeen Children's Hopsital to help her cope with a child with a medical problem (in this instance UC). She found it really helpful. If you think it might help you, please contact the local group (email or telephone) and we can put you in touch with the right person.
The course's leaflet can be found on the Newsletter page under 'Stress Reduction Course'.
You may wish to take a look at the This Morning website.
Today (Tuesday 10 Jan 2012) there was an interview with John Prescott and his daughter-in-law who has Ulcerative Colitis.
You can hopefully view it on ITV Player from tomorrow and the information is available on the following sites:
