 Welcome to the Mid and East Hertfordshire Group website. If you suffer from Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, or are a parent or supporter of someone who does, this group is for you - WELCOME! We hold regular meetings at the QEII Hospital, Welwyn Garden City, for members to come along and hear from our medical team and guest speakers regarding current treatments, research and help available. Our newsletter is published twice a year and we also get involved in various fundraising events. We ALWAYS welcome new members (and their families!) and love to see new faces at our meetings. So please do come along and join us to find out more about our Group and how we can help and support you; it's always good to have the opportunity to meet fellow sufferers! We hope that both members and non-members will find this site very useful. It will be updated regularly so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact us. Colitis and Crohn's (conditions known as inflammatory bowel disease or IBD) affect a quarter of a million people across the UK, symptoms can include diarrhoea, severe pain and fatigue, eye, joint and skin problems, and impaired growth in children. These lifelong diseases have no known cure, and frequently first affect teenagers and young adults.
