Sister Joy Mason IBD specialist nurse is amongst five finalists in the Crohn's and Colitis UK IBD nurse awards. She has beaten off competition from 450 nominees from all over the country. Joy does so much for the North Essex Group alongside her work at Colchester General Hospital. The IBD helpline has become indispensable as has Joy. A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED OUR QUIZ NIGHT IN NOVEMBER WE RAISED A FANTASTIC £360.
IT WAS A GREAT EVENING. THE QUIZ WAS INGENIOUSLY PUT TOGETHER BY STEVE AND GRAHAM. THE HALFWAY CHIPS WERE LOVINGLY PREPARED BY CLAIRE AND KAREN. THE RAFFLE FEATURED A MEERKAT AND IT WAS ALL KINDLY HOSTED BY TERRY AND CORRINA AT THE RED LION PUB.

OUR NEXT BI-MONTHLY MEETING ON
These meetings are really informal. They give you a chance to meet fellow members over a drink or a frothy coffee.
You'll also be able to catch up with us, the organising team, and find out about up-coming events and fundraising projects. We're also there to listen to any suggestions or comments you may have about the group, so don't hold back!
Specialist IBD nurse Sister Joy Mason usually attends the bi-monthly meetings to answer any medical queries you may have.

NEW VOLUNTEERS TO THE ORGANISING TEAM
We'd like to offer a warm welcome to Claire Irving and Karen Coble who have recently joined the organising team. As well as being very enthusiastic about Crohn's and Colitis UK they're also on the committee for the Ileostomy Association support for Colchester (Busy ladies!).
They are both, hopefully, attending our next bi-monthly meeting and would be happy to talk to you about any issues surrounding stomas, ileostomys etc.
