 Educational meeting

A very big thank you to all those who volunteered to receive their newsletters via email following our request in the last mailing.
 

As you can imagine the cost of posting the newsletter to about 450 members of the West Midlands Group is considerable – and with the new price of 2nd class postage it is going to cost 30% more – money which we would much prefer to go to Crohn’s and Colitis UK to help with their valuable work! Crohn's Colitis and Employment
Last year our theme was 'Crohn's Colitis and Employment' and we carried out a study of the affects of IBD on employment.  We produced a report entitled 'Crohn's Colitis and Employment - from Careeer Aspiration to Reality' which was launched in the Houses of Parliament on International IBD day.  Copies of the report can be downloaded from the Crohn's and Colitis UK Employment mini website www.wix.com/emi653/gooddeskbaddesk or, if you don't feel like reading it a podcast, based on the report, is available on the Crohn's Connect website at www.crohnsconnect.co.uk/more-about-crohns/

Fundraising

Fundraising is hugely important to NACC, without the money raised we would not be able to provide the New Patients Pack's or other information sheets, support the helplines or Local Groups.
 
Last year in Colitis and Crohn's week we were supported by Jeff Hordley, from Emmerdale, as Carrie Grant has done in the past.
 
But did you Know that Rick Parfitt Junior, 

born into rock royalty, and an accomplished musician in his own right is also supporting NACC.  The RPJ Rock Band has enjoyed successful tours and collaborations with artists ranging from Robbie Williams to Lily Allen and James Morrison.  Diagnosed with Crohn’s at the age of 8, RPJ has recently set up the RPJ Crohn’s Foundation, which aims to raise funds for NACC.
