Welcome to the Durham and Wearside Group website.The Group is organised by a team of local volunteers, all members of the Group, who hold regular meetings throughout the year. These meetings are held at the University Hospital of North Durham on Saturday afternoons. Members, non-members, family and friends are all welcome.We aim to provide a friendly and informal atmosphere with guest speakers where patients and their families can meet and talk with others in a similar situation. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. We have close links with the Gastroenterology Medical Team at the University Hospital. Our medical advisor is Dr. Phil Matthews who works at the Hospital, Denise Carter, Stoma Nurse is also on our team.The rest of the team is Chair Jenny Nolan, Treasurer Judi Humphries, Secretary Ann Harris, Joyce Finnegan, Dorothy Lowes, Laura Harris, Jill Chipchase, Christian Bracken Brett Mather, Michael Rogan. |
