IBD and Water Meters
Water metering can mean increased costs for those of us with IBD, especially during a flare-up.
South West Water has a tariff called Watersure. You need to be in receipt of a means tested benefit or tax credit (including child tax credit). If you have a meter and use a lot of water it may be worth checking out. Spring 2011 Congratulations Congratulations are expressed to Jo Sheppard on her announcement during the April 2011 Group meeting, that she is expecting her third child. Jo is the Group's chairperson and IBD specialist nurse. She will continue to lead the group from the front until her maternity leave commences in June. From that date Mel Jenkin will provide support to the group in Jo's absence. Very best wishes are extended to her from the Group. Autumn 2010 Francis Potts accepted a cheque for £400 on behalf of the Mid & West Cornwall group. For many years the St Just rally have nominated Crohn's/Colitis as one of their preferred charities, and make an annual donation to the cause. Thanks to Francis and Brian for manning the stall. Spring/Summer 2009 IBD nurse We now have an IBD nurse, Jo Sheppard, based at Treliske. She will be speaking about her role at the Support Group meeting on Thursday February 5th 2009, at 7.00 pm in the Knowledge Spa at Treliske hospital. St Just Rally In autumn 2009, Geoffrey Roberts presented the group with a cheque for £900 on behalf of the St Just Rally Committee.
